Rosary Campaign for Peace

The Knights of St Columba are holding their annual Rosary Campaign for peace during the week commencing 4th October and invite all parishioners to join them in praying for peace. Some Knights will be praying the Rosary on Friday 9th October with the Prayer Group at Christ the King starting at 6.15pm. Everyone is welcome to come. Brian George, Grand Knight.
CAFOD Harvest Fast Day - October 2nd

Harvest Fast Day is on Friday Oct 2nd. Please remember to take a Fast Day envelope as you leave the church today and return it next weekend with your donation enclosed. In this way we can reach those people in desperate need of essentials like Food, Water and Medicines. If you are a taxpayer, don't forget to fill out the gift aid slip on the envelope as this will increase the value of your donation by almost a third, at no extra cost to you. Thank you.

East Sussex LIFE - October 19th

AGM will be held on Monday 19th October in Christ the King parish rooms at 7.15pm. This will be followed by a talk at 8pm by Vicky O'Brien, Life's Housing Officer, on the possibility of establishing a Life House in Eastbourne. Refreshments will be available after the talk. Harvest Fast Day is on Friday Oct 2nd. Cafod are appealing for our urgent help to support the millions of people who are being pushed deeper into poverty. A quarter of the world's population is now living in extreme poverty, and life is getting harder for them. Cafod’s Funds are now stretched to the limit, so they desperately need our generous donations. Fast Day envelopes will be available in church next weekend. 10:15 Arrive at Aylesford, with time for coffee, browsing, etc 11:00 Gathering Service, with procession of the Relics to the main shrine
11:30 Mass; Blessing of Roses
15:30 Prayer for Healing & Reconciliation
17:00 Depart; depending on the 15:30 liturgy, we could depart 17:30.

Bingo!

Bingo is returning by popular demand on Friday 2nd October in St. George's Hall, Polegate. Doors open at 7pm for a 7:30 start. Bingo will be held on the first Friday of every month, as a fundraiser for St. George's. Everyone is welcome. A raffle will be held and there will also be refreshments on sale. Please do your best to support this event and bring along friends and family for what will be a pleasant social occasion.
Parish Care Group meeting - September 8th
The next meeting will be on Tuesday 8th Sep- tember at 7pm in the Parish Rooms. This group is still in the formation stage, with an aim to blend into Parish activity in early October. If you are interested in joining please try to attend the above meeting.
Chichester Trip - Cancelled
Due to lack of support we have had to cancel our coach trip to Chichester and the Cathedral. We apologise to those who have booked. We were unable to secure sufficient bookings to cover the cost of the coach. Any payment made will be refunded.
The Rosary - Parents Praying For Their Children

Four evenings of prayer to be held at St Thomas a Becket Infant School at 7:30pm on 1st, 8th, 15th and 22nd October.
The rosary will be said for the intentions of children and families. All welcome, especially parents and grandparents.
